With my four years in Vietnam, Ninh Binh singularly took the number one spot as the most visited. I regularly visited this place on my own especially during the pandemic since it is just 1 hour and 30-min away from Hanoi by limousine—the locals’ word for spacious shared van. • Personal Opinion: the longest and I do not really recommend this if you are strap with time. Buses wait til it is kinda full. I’ve done this several times til I said enough. I just wanna chill.

By Tourist Bus

5 Reasons Why Ninh Binh Is Worth Visiting

Personally, I wouldn’t frequent Ninh Binh as often as possible if it wasn’t worth visiting. Over time, after I’ve done all the sights travelers visit Ninh Binh for, I simply come here to bask in the pastoral serenity of it all. I would just bring a book with me, stay for two nights in one of the many hotels around, typically in Trang An and Hoa Lu area, and chill and eat my way through the weekend. But if you need some convincing why Ninh Binh is worth visiting, here are five:

The ideal duration for a visit to Ninh Binh depends on your interests and travel itinerary. My husband would say one week. There are so many things to do that cramming all of them in two days seems illegal. However, to partially experience the beauty and diversity of Ninh Binh, it’s recommended to stay for at least 3 to 4 days. This allows sufficient time to explore the main attractions such as Trang An, Tam Coc, Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, and Bai Dinh Pagoda, as well as indulge in outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, and boat tours. Additionally, having a few extra days enables you to immerse yourself in the local culture, savor authentic cuisine, and appreciate the tranquil ambiance of this captivating destination.
