It is just an hour and 30 minutes away (if you don’t use the public buses, which take time to fill up) by limousine, the locals’ word for a very spacious shared van that picks you up in Hanoi and drops you off at your hotel in Ninh Binh. With this convenience, it was so easy to say, “I will be in Ninh Binh tomorrow,” when tomorrow was practically just three hours away because it was Friday evening and, like many expats, I was out with friends for some drinks and dance.
