The Best 19 Moalboal Beach Resorts

beach resorts in moalboal.jpg

I think I’ve mentioned this countless of times that I love Moalboal so much that I bought a tiny piece of land somewhere between Bas Daku (White Beach) and Bas Diot (Panagsama Beach). I love it for several reasons: it’s quite close to Cebu City (my home back then), it still has thriving underwater ecosystem, perfect for a budding free diver and diver like me, and over time, I made some friends that Moalboal became my home away from the city. Every time I go back to the Philippines, my first stop is always Moalboal. Anyway, I curated the top Moalboal Beach Resorts, to make your traveling easier.

Quick Moalboal accommodation guide

My bias: Hale Manna Coastal Gardens
The best Moalboal beach resort for couples: Kasai Village Dive Resort
The best beach resort for families and groups: Pescadores Seaview Suites Moalboal
The best budget beach resort for solo travelers: Moalboal T Breeze

LOCAL TIP: take the early morning bus (4-6am bus) from South Bus Terminal, so you won’t be stuck in Minglanilla with the horrible traffic.

This small town on Cebu Island is home to some of the top diving destinations in the country, including Pescador Island, Sunken Island, Kasai, Plane Wreck, Tongo, and Sampaguita, among others, so it’s no surprise that a lot of people, both local and foreign, visit Moalboal. Moalboal was my midweek staycation while I lived in Cebu. I made some good friends in the neighborhood, swam with the sardine run countless of times, and even bought a little piece of land with the intention of moving there for good. But life has other plans eh.

Let’s face it. Life is crazy and now the global pandemic has made it even crazier. And sometimes you just need to chill by the sea, letting your body be caressed by the breeze or swim with the marine life or watch as the sun sets. With that, Moalboal has you covered with its different hotels and resorts that cater to your vacation needs.

How to get from Cebu City to Moalboal?

If this is your first time in Cebu, fully embrace the comfortable way since our public transport is not for everyone. Conveniently book a seat in a shared van here. Feel free to check our comprehensive guide on how to get from Cebu City to Moalboal.

What boat tours should I do?

Moalboal is quite small. And the boat tour is primarily around the shores of Panagsama. Pescadores Island is not mandatory, but if you are there already, why not do it. It is fun for snorkeling. You will see some turtles, millions of sardines, which Moalboal is known for. If you dive, the better. Book a seat in a shared boat tour here.

Experience Canyoneering in Kawasan

I have done this several times. Long before it was popular. This is intense. You get scared. That’s normal. But you do it anyway. The guides are awesome and experienced. They know the ins and outs of the rivers. So pack up that courage with you and do this. Believe me, it is memorable and exhilarating. Book your island hopping and canyoneering combo here.
