Siargao Airport is the gateway to the stunning island of Siargao. The airport is small and regional, but it is well-equipped to handle the influx of tourists that come to Siargao every year. The airport has two runway lights for night landings, and the terminal has been recently renovated to accommodate more passengers. Siargao Airport is in the middle of a swamp, so expect carabaos and cows and a farmer or two greeting your arrival.

The airport is served by Cebu Pacific and the Philippine Airlines, as of October 2022. Siargao Airport has one runway and one terminal. The runway is 3,200 feet long and the terminal is small with only a few shops and restaurants. There are no direct flights to Siargao from popular countries like the USA, or the UK, so you will need to connect through Manila or Cebu.

How many flights does Siargao Airport have?

Siargao Airport is the main airport serving Siargao Island. As of October 2022, there are  about 10 direct flights daily to and from Siargao Airport with an average of 2,500 passengers per day.

There are four direct flights from Manila and three from Cebu. As of 2022, only the two biggest airports in the Philippines have direct flights to Siargao Island.

The airport is currently undergoing expansion to accommodate larger commercial aircrafts and increase the number of flights. When complete, Siargao Airport will be able to handle up to 400,000 passengers per year.

Flights to Siargao are available from Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines. Cebu Pacific has one direct flight to Siargao from Manila and two direct flights from Cebu while Philippine Airlines has two direct flights from Manila and  one from Cebu. The flight time from Manila to Siargao is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes, while the flight time from Cebu to Siargao is approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes. When booking a flight to Siargao, it is important to check the schedule of both airlines in order to find the most convenient option. Word of caution: Cebu Pacific is notorious of flight delays, but it is way more affordable than PAL. Philippine Airlines is timely. For a price.

Are there hotels or restaurants near Siargao Airport?

Depending on how you define a hotel or restaurant, it is a yes or a no. There is Ideal Eatery on the edge of the airport. It is your typical Filipino carenderia that serves pre-cooked dishes, you will be lucky if anything is served warm. Not too far from the airport is Mariden Resort, which serves food. But if I were you, just hang on there and endure the 45-minute ride to General Luna, where you have more restaurant options. 

How to get to General Luna from Siargao Airport?

If you know how to ride your own scooter, then you can rent your own ride. Just google  Sayak Motor Bike Rent, which is right outside the airport to get your own ride. You can also book your ride, shared or private with a driver, on Klook.
