It’s More Fun in the Philippines

Backpacking with a Book

San Juanico Bridge, Leyte, Philippines

We made a mountain out of a molehill. Tourism is no skin-deep, it is light; hence, it is fun. Some dig tourism since they want to escape from their immediate lives and responsibilities and seek refuge from the not-so-familiar.

DOT does not have to gloss its slogan with fancy adjectives. Fun—it’s crisp, simple, truthful.

Traveling abroad does not interest me yet since it’s more fun in the Philippines.

Let’s answer the survey below. For those who have heard about my country, what is the first word that comes to your mind when you heard the word Philippines?

YOUR HELP REACHES PLACES. A DOLLAR CAN GO A MILE. LITERALLY. 🙂 “One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things,” says Henry Miller. But a dollar can go places. 😉

Help BWAB weave more narratives, encounter more interesting characters, and frame more places and memories. Thank you.

  1. “Traveling abroad does not interest me yet since it’s more fun in the Philippines.” – same here!!
Aside from the fact that it was waaaaay cheaper to travel locally, I believe that the Philippine landscapes and seascapes can also rival those from other countries.

Very true, Jona! I’ve been to some countries and I still feel that the Philippines has best things to offer. The other countries may have the biggest, the grandest, and the most expensive structures and buildings in the world, but the Philippines has the most warm, friendliest people and places 🙂

  3. The more I travel overseas, the more I believe that it is truly fun in the Philippines! The hubby who grew up in Australia never felt homesick, and I always tease him that, he doesn’t feel so cause there’s nothing missable about Oz. I feel homesick most of the time because there’s so much to miss about Pinas!

  4. Wow, that light reflecting on the water is just so beautiful. It’s amazing how one light can create such a long reflection…
