Backpacking with a Book is created with traveling as a creative process in mind. I travel to attempt to write. Although it is a constant struggle with words, traveling makes it bearable. I travel to know and understand not only the place but also the self within the place .
BWAB becomes the refuge of the photographs and words of the places I barely know—much less, understand—yet have the guts to write about.
Nobody appreciated my musings here—none that I knew of—except for a few friends and that certain someone (perhaps out of duty 😉 )—not until BWAB’s nomination in Best Cebu Blogs.
Through Best Cebu Blogs, I received several “I read your blog” lines from figures I truly look up to.
“I do read your blog. It’s worth reading, though I don’t leave any trace there.” Nanghambog ko! Hehe

It’s humbling. I’m humbled and scared at the same time since I consider my grammar skill inferior; and these figures are—can be— grammar nazis. Challenged, I’m challenged to write better, to capture better.
I wouldn’t have known these readers without Best Cebu Blogs. So, thank you, guys!
This is BCB’s 4th year in acknowledging blogs owned and run by Cebuano bloggers. It fosters and fortifies the widening blogging community.
Learning about my silent readers is the most rewarding feeling.
BWAB is one of the Top 10 Famous Blogs Facebook Contest and a finalist for Best Cebu Photo Blog and Best Cebu Travel Blog.
It is a collective effort. Daghang kaayong salamat. Tagay!
