Aguinid Falls, Samboan, Cebu

Dao, Binalayan, and Aguinid Falls in Samboan

Not all mountains tax its climber to see fulfilling scenery. Not all mountains require six hours or a day to reach the peak. Not all mountains find happiness to see its climber gruel from muscle pain. Not all mountains are like Samboan’s Mt. Bartolina. With the aid of experienced habal-habal drivers, who maneuver even on a foot-wide trail, a fifteen-minute assault is realizable. Pressed for time, climbers can be dropped on the saddle in Brgy. Whereas Dumaguete’s night was images of lights and young love, Siquijor’s of witchcraft and isolation. Yet, its appearance from afar is a big deception. Perhaps to mislead its visitors. Or perhaps to draw them more. I […]

Budlaan Falls, Cebu City

Cebu City | Kan-irag Falls–Mt. Kan-irag Itinerary

I’ve received several inquiries on how to go to Kan-irag | Kabang Budlaan | Kainsing Falls (I know right, even the locals have varied names for the waterfall.  The community before and after the main falls have different names for it. Although I was initially reluctant in providing instructives, perhaps it is for the greater good. Or not. Because personally, my trips do not have itineraries at all. I could say that we did not really follow the itineraries below. But this guide might work for those who have not been to these places. Or better yet, approach a local community […]
