Insanity Steak at Barbecue Boss

Compellingly named menus are effective advertising strategy.  At Barbecue Boss, which has several franchise in Davao, they gave crazy names to their meals. Attracted to the deceptiveness, inventiveness of words, I ordered Insanity Steak. I risk , excitedly, the future of my tongue. It must be ultra-mega hot. It must be swarming with chili flakes. Visually, it was seemingly insane. It was chili-teemed. I tasted nothing at first bite but plain meat with a hint of soy sauce. Davao’s Best for the Insane

Our five-day stay in  Davao was meaningfully foodgasmic. Meeting a friend unexpectedly in durianparadise made explorations easy as pie. That’s one character of a place: it makes one remember friends, names, other places. Together with Karla, we explored Davao’s food culture.  Karla is a food expert, while I an eating expert.  A good match, don’t you think? She is at a loss though since she’s a slow eater. 😉 Sarong Banggi  has an elegant feel. The restaurant shared the same movie title starring Jacklyn Jose. *** to be continued
